Staff members Liz Holt and Dániel Kádár, along with Prof. Paul Drew (Loughborough), organised the Interface Between Conversation Analysis and Pragmatics workshop, held in Huddersfield 9th-11th September. Liz writes:
“A group of experts in these two fields were invited to run data-based sessions exploring the interface. We had delegates from China, Japan, Australia.
Speakers included: Paul Drew, Rebecca Clift, Hiroko Tanaka, Michael Haugh, Jim O’Driscoll, Dániel Kádár and me.
We also celebrated and inaugurated the name change for our research centre to Centre for Advanced studies in Pragmatics, Interaction and Communication and the inauguration of two visiting researchers and one visiting professor: Prof Paul Drew, Dr Rebecca Clift and Dr Hiroko Tanaka (both Essex)."
