Syntactico-pragmatic development: Woods in Oxford

Senior Lecturer Rebecca Woods bookended October with another talk on Non-adult questions in child language: a window into pragmatic development at the University of Oxford’s General Linguistics Seminar. A very fruitful discussion on a range of issues followed the seminar, including how how come and why differ, why might might differ from can and whether we ‘weird’ children by using very different linguistic features with them than we might use in adult-to-adult speech.
