Undergraduate researcher success for Lucy

Final year undergraduate student Lucy Jackson is hitting the research high notes before even finishing her BA.

Lucy's dissertation study, entitled Investigating Bradford speakers’ ability to imitate a SSBE accent: Implications for forensic phonetics has been accepted as an oral presentation at this year's International Association for Forensic Phonetics and Acoustics (IAFPA) conference.

Fantastic work, Lucy! And if you fancy providing some of the last bits of data that Lucy needs, take a look at her requirements below and email her on U1571834 at - just replace the "at" with a @.

"What I need is 4 more participants to make the numbers to be published. And this is where you come in! I’m studying the Bradford accent in line with a more ‘posher’ accent that we hear from down south. The tasks are really easy and not hard at all. It would be 2 separate occasions at Huddersfield Uni campus and I would come and meet you so you don’t get lost! And you would also get a £25 voucher for Sainsbury’s or Amazon (Amazing, I know). So if you’re: from Bradford, white British male, 18-25, and you think you could help out then please let me know. My journal deadline would be the 25th May so I’m looking at people who are free over the next couple of weeks. If you know any friends who would want to come do it with you, then the better! Again, thanks so much!"
