Undergraduate Study

Elliott is studying English Language and Linguistics BA(Hons). In his film he describes how the University has given him more confidence and that he's found the lecturers to be very supportive. Elliott also talks about his ambition to go into a career in forensic speech science.

Postgraduate Study

Postgraduate students play a significant role in our research community and we are keen to attract new students to come and work with us. We offer a range of postgraduate qualifications and welcome applications from well-qualified graduates. As a postgraduate student you will join a thriving research community with plenty of opportunities to develop your research skills and work with leading figures in your field.

Research degrees

Master of Arts by Research (MA Res)

The MA by Research is assessed by a 25,000 word dissertation and is ideal for candidates with a clearly defined research project in mind, particularly as preparation for a PhD. Students are assigned a main supervisor and a second supervisor to support them in their research.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

The PhD is assessed by an 80,000 word dissertation and a viva voce examination. We welcome project proposals from well-qualified applicants.
